You’ll be waiting a long time for the next Star Wars game

More time on the nanowave stove. Star Wars: Hunters, an upcoming team-based arena shooter set in the galaxy far, far away has been delayed to next year.

Teams of characters are pitted against one another in battles around the Star Wars universe in this competitive multiplayer brawler. The Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android platforms will all receive it. Although it was first scheduled to debut in 2021, it was then postponed to the following year and is now once again being delayed to 2023.

The statement on Twitter states, “Our objective is to develop a competitive war arena game that will amuse for years to come.” “We have decided to postpone the launch of Star Wars: Hunters internationally in order to guarantee that we live up to the high standards we are establishing for fans worldwide and ourselves as creators.

“We invite all gamers to join us on Vespaara when Star Wars: Hunters launches in 2023 on Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android devices.

“We understand game delays are frustrating. However, our top priority is ensuring players will have the best possible experience in the Arena.”

In India, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia, Star Wars: Hunters has already had a soft launch. Prior to the game’s full, global launch, developer NaturalMotion will continue to release feature updates in those regions.

A long time to wait for a galaxy far, far away

Even though the Star Wars franchise’s most recent release, Star Wars: Hunters, was the only one planned for this year. We will have to wait a long time for the next game set in George Lucas’s sci-fi realm as it has been postponed till 2023.

Next year will also see the release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Respawn’s follow-up to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. However, there has been no announcement of a launch date, and major players like Starfield are anticipated to debut in early 2023, so we wouldn’t be shocked if it appears later rather than sooner.

Although plenty of other Star Wars games have been announced, we don’t expect they’ll appear any time soon, either. Updates on the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake have been absent since its first teaser reveal, and we’re none the wiser on when Quantic Dreams’ Star Wars Eclipse will hit shelves.

Similar to that, not much is known about the recently revealed Star Wars project from former Uncharted director Amy Hennig. We don’t know when it will be released or when the new open-world Star Wars game from Ubisoft will be available. Respawn is also working on a Star Wars FPS and a strategy game, both of which seem to be in the early phases of development.

Fans of Wookies and droids will have to wait a bit for the next new Star Wars video game. Let’s hope Star Wars: Hunters is as deserving of its license as its cast of endearing characters.
