Warhammer 40,000 fans: you’ll be waiting a little longer for this co-op shooter

The release of Warhammer 40k: Darktide, the next game set in Games Workshop’s grimdark sci-fi universe and a four-player cooperative shooter, has been postponed.

The shooter has been delayed by 10 weeks after briefly making an appearance in a brand-new teaser at the most recent Summer Game Fest 2022. Martin Wahlund, the CEO of Fatshark, tweeted that Darktide is now scheduled to go live on PC on November 30. Soon after, on an undetermined date, the Xbox Series X|S version is scheduled to go on sale.

We are not enthusiastic about delaying a game because it’s probably one of the hardest decisions a developer has to make, according to Wahlund. However, we believe that this demonstrates our dedication to spending the time required and going above and beyond to provide you with the best game possible.

Wahlund went on to say the extra development time was needed to improve the game’s stability, performance, and key systems. All important in the fight against heresy.
