Samsung’s second major event of 2022 is quickly approaching, and to generate excitement, the company has now released an official trailer for the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked, in which it displays the designs of at least two phones, most likely the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, based on appearances.

Although Samsung hasn’t specifically named these phones, we’ve long anticipated seeing both of them at this presentation on August 10. However, prior teasers had concentrated solely on a replacement for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, so the addition of a new Z Fold seems encouraging.

As for what to expect from these phones. Well, the video only shows brief glimpses of each, but various angles are shown, and some details can be made out.

There appear to be two rear camera lenses and a flash on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 (or at least the foldable flip phone thought to have that name). According to what we can see, that is consistent with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, as is the two-tone design on the back and the placement of the ports, buttons, and antenna lines.

Though glimpses of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold are less frequent, from what we can see, it appears to be fairly comparable to the current model. None of which is unexpected given what leaks had previously suggested.

This trailer also has some text that makes suggestions for potential changes in addition to the imagery. New methods to work and play, new means to document life, and new encounters that will permanently alter human behavior are all mentioned.

The part about capturing life is probably a hint at camera advancements, especially as it’s followed by an image of the lenses on the Galaxy Z Flip 4; but, some of it is rather unclear and might just be underlining the advantages that foldables have over flat phones.

Meanwhile, the reference to “new ways to work and play” may be a hint at the alleged S Pen slot in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. On August 10, we ought to learn the truth for sure.

Analysis: more than just foldables

While the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 will probably steal the show at Samsung’s event on August 10, there are more products we’re hoping to see, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

These are expected to be top-end wearables with worryingly high prices but big upgrades to battery life.

Other devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, could also be released; however, at least one source predicts that they won’t be available until before August 10. In any case, this event appears to be well-attended and significant for Samsung enthusiasts.
